BLUE CURRENT Modern quilted runner for table or wall – 18 by 52 inches

This handmade quilted runner was designed, pieced, quilted and bound by me in my home studio.  I love making spontaneous, improv pieces as art textiles for your home. The runner has a minimal, linear design in a cool blue palette.  Navy, cobalt, denim and sky blue, plus black, white, and gray are arranged in straight and curving strips to create this flowing design.  A black and white print and a couple of pops of green and add variety and interest.  Whether used as a wall hanging or as a table runner on your dining table, entry console or bedroom dresser, this runner will provide the perfect modern, architectural touch to your home.

I used a blue variegated thread to stitch closely spaced parallel lines along the length of the runner.  These stitching lines add luscious texture and visual movement and help keep the runner flat and square.   The reverse side of the runner has blue and gray stripes. Lightweight batting gives the runner body and structure.  The back of the runner has rod pockets sewn in all four corners, so you can hang on the wall from either end. You will need a wooden dowel (round or flat slat) cut to the appropriate length. Simply tuck the ends of the dowel into the top corner pockets and hang on the wall by setting the dowel on small nails or pushpins. Fabrics and batting are premium 100% cotton.

After construction, the runner was machine washed, tumble dried on low for 10 minutes, then removed from the dryer while partially damp and laid flat to air dry. If you continue this care, no further shrinkage will occur.
