BUBBLES IN ORBIT Modern art wall quilt 24 by 23 inches

Designed, pieced and quilted by me, this modern art wall quilt has a curvy, abstract design in a contemporary palette. Circles and curves collide and overlap in a bold palette of orange, purple, blue, pink, yellow and green.  The background is a gray shaded bubble print. Playful, modern and full of movement, this piece will bring energy and color to any room.

I used silver thread to stitch closely spaced parallel lines across the surface of the wall quilt, providing textural interest. The cotton batting and quilting lines give the wall hanging form and structure, allowing it to hang flat and square against the wall.

The back of the mini quilt has rod pockets sewn in all four corners, so you can hang on the wall in four different orientations. You will need a wooden dowel (round or flat slat) cut to 22 inches. Simply tuck the ends of the dowel into the top corner pockets and hang on the wall by setting the dowel on small nails or pushpins. Mini quilt art measures approximately 23 by 24 inches. Fabrics and batting are premium 100% cotton.

After construction, the wall quilt was machine washed in cold, tumbled dry on low for 5 minutes, then removed from the dryer while partially damp and laid flat to air dry. If you continue this care, no further shrinkage will occur.
