TWICE IN A RAINDROP Modern throw quilt 59 by 62 inches

This modern throw quilt is made with gorgeous ombre fabrics and a minimal color block design. The abstract, geometric layout consists of squares and rectangles in a mosaic design.  I arranged the ombre blocks so that the shading gradient moves both vertically and horizontally.  The vibrant colors and shading of the ombre fabrics gives a flow of movement, light, and color around the quilt.  The simple geometry of the design gives a modern, mid-century feel to this striking quilt.   A nice compact size (59 by 62 inches,) this quilt makes a snuggly lap quilt and a contemporary, colorful accessory thrown over the back of your sofa or chair – or hang it on the wall as a modern art piece with big graphic impact.

The reverse is an improv pieced composition made up of mostly grays with a few colored ombre accents mixed in.  I used variegated thread to stitch parallel lines across the quilt, giving the quilt an easy drape, crinkled appearance, and a lush textured feel. Unbleached cotton batting gives the quilt lightweight warmth. The binding, in blue ombre, is securely attached with machine stitching for durability. All fabrics and batting are premium 100% cotton.

Care: Machine wash in cold water. Tumble dry, low heat; or air dry flat if you prefer. The quilt has been machine washed and dried after construction, to shrink it to its final dimensions.
