SURF BEADS Modern quilted runner for wall or table 17 by 64 inches

This handmade modern textile was designed to hang on the wall or to use as a table runner.  Three strands of pod shaped beads run along the length of the runner.  I used three batik fabrics in shades of green, blue and sand against a background of Grunge in onyx.  The minimal design and dark ocean palette will bring a modern accent to any room in your home.  I sewed rod pockets on the back in each of the four corners so you can hang on the wall vertically in either orientation.  To hang, use a wooden dowel or flat slat cut to about 16 inches, tucking the ends of the dowel into the corner pockets.  Then set the dowel on a nail or pushpin in the wall. You may also use it as a table runner in dining room, entryway console, bedroom dresser, or coffee table.

I used variegated thread to stitch parallel lines along the length of the runner.  This stitching plus the cotton batting gives the runner body and structure.  The binding was attached securely with two rounds of machine stitching for durability.  Fabrics and batting are premium 100% cotton.

After construction, the runner was machine washed, tumble dried on low for 5 minutes, then removed from the dryer while partially damp and laid flat to air dry.  If you continue this care, no further shrinkage will occur.
