BOUND TOGETHER 67 by 85 inches
I used modern designer prints in an abstract design of interlocking squares and rectangles to create this contemporary quilt with mid-century design appeal. The fabric patterns include paint splatter, curved lines, ovals, circles, bars and paint drips. The main colors are green, blue, pink, wine, honey and white – all set against a background of warm brownish gray. The squares and rectangles appear to be intertwined and bound together. The abstract, minimal design and contemporary fabrics give a fresh, mid-century feel to this quilt. A perfect addition to your modern home. Because of the long length, this quilt would work well on a twin-size bed or as an extra-long throw in your living room, bedroom, patio or reading nook. Or hang it on the wall as a contemporary art piece with big graphic impact.
The reverse side has an off-center block made with the same fabrics as the front in a pattern called “winding ways.” This feature block is surrounded by solid navy. Using Isacord thread in Gravel, I stitched parallel lines along the length of the quilt, giving it an easy drape, crinkled appearance, and a lush, textured feel. Unbleached cotton batting gives the quilt lightweight warmth. The binding in light gray was attached securely with two rounds of machine stitching to guarantee a lifetime of durability. All fabrics and batting are premium 100% cotton.
Care: Machine wash in cold water. Tumble dry, low heat; or air dry flat if you prefer. The quilt has been machine washed and dried after construction, to shrink it to its final dimensions.
