BANANA PEPPER Modern throw quilt 62 by 63 inches

This modern, abstract quilt started with a set of monochrome blocks, sewn together with an improvisational free-form approach.  I used a variety of solid and print fabrics in shades of gray, black, white, ecru and navy. I decided to frame these graphic little compositions with a background of solid yellow – Banana Pepper by Kona cotton.  The graphic designs of the monochrome improv blocks and the use of negative space give this quilt distinct modern appeal. This throw quilt will be right at home in your modern, bohemian, or traditional home. Perfectly sized for living room, bedroom, reading nook or patio.

I used variegated thread to stitch squares, circles, loops, and circuits across the surface of the quilt. This stitching gives the quilt another layer of modern design, a lush texture, crinkled appearance, and easy drape.  Unbleached cotton batting gives the quilt lightweight warmth. The reverse side is made with a gray and gold diamond print which frames another improv block.  The binding in gray ombre was attached securely with machine stitching for durability. All fabrics and batting are premium 100% cotton.

Care: Machine wash in cold water. Tumble dry, low heat; or air dry flat if you prefer. The quilt has been machine washed and dried after construction, to shrink it to its final dimensions.
